Montages (Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Weddings)

There are so many different ways to tell these stories! I mostly love using home-videos, title pages, or interviews depending on client vision and price point. However, simple pictures and music work well too. My editing style for the “meat” of each video, THE PICTURES, is similar from montage to montage–it’s the inserts before each section that really tell the story. I can also do fully-scripted videos with heavy voice overs as well. In the Gallery, you can view some samples of mostly Bar/Bat Mitzvah videos, but they should give you a sense of my technique.

Family Story Videos

There is nothing I love more than interviewing someone about their “family story”--where ancestors came from, what adventures and adversity they faced, and how their lives have unfolded from the past to the present. After the interview, I edit the conversation so it’s a chronological lifetime tale. Then I add pictures and music, bringing the story to life so that future generations know where they came from.

Nonprofits/Small Businesses

When featuring nonprofits or businesses, I keep it simple. Tell the story clearly, with well-shot interviews, great footage, emotion (when called for), personality, affordability and minimal hassle. Camera and lighting set-up, interview prep, and filming b-roll all happen efficiently, keeping people’s busy schedules in mind.

Life-event videos, like bar/bat mitzvah montages, birthdays, anniversaries, etc..., made up mostly of pictures and video clips provided by the client.

$5 an element (picture/clip/song/title page)
$60 an hour for any interviews/filming required

For corporate or personal videos that require interviews and filming or for basic editing services:

$60 an hour

For nonprofit videos that require interviews and filming:

$40 an hour
